Stacy Iest Hsu is one of Moda’s most imaginative designers, especially for children.
Her Ponderosa collection brings back memories of that children’s TV programme from many years ago, set on a ranch with cowboys and horses.
Here she has given us a large panel which makes up into a stable, with four horses.
If you have a child to sew for, this will be fun for you to make and even more fun for them to play with.
Full instructions are included to make a cloth stable with opening doors and roof, which can be closed up with velcro to keep the four horses safe inside. It has a carry handle for easy transportation.
It then opens out to form a playmat with individual stalls for the horses inside. The horses are stuffed and it also includes stuffed bales of hay.
The stable can be backed with either wadding or interfacing to make it stand up, and would make a lovely play set for a child, promoting imaginative play.
The colours include muted creams, browns, greens and golds, evocative of the desert landscapes of the Wild West.
