Two-day Dressmaking Workshop

Come along and work with Janet in a small group of just four students, giving ample opportunity for individual attention.
We have decided to change the format of our Dressmaking Workshops for 2023.
Each one will now be held over two days – usually in the same week, or a week apart.
The first day will be spent looking at a commercial pattern of the student’s choice, making alterations and adjustments as necessary to fit, cutting out and beginning to sew.
The second day will be spent completing the garment. This may involve inserting a zip, using an overlocker, sewing buttonholes etc.
Please ensure that you are able to attend both days as we will be unable to transfer you onto another date.
The workshop will be limited to a maximum of 4 students to allow space and plenty of individual support.
Each student will require a pattern of their choice. We do not sell patterns but we do have a stock of patterns which are available to borrow. Please ask for details.
Please contact Janet before the workshop to discuss your choice of pattern and which fabrics woudl be suitable fabric.
Please note that this day is for sewing with woven fabrics – not stretch. There is an alternative workshop for Sewing with Stretch Sewing with Stretch workshop where you can learn the techniques and skills for working with knit fabrics.
