Looking forward to opening soon

April is here at last. At times I thought it would never arrive. It has always been my favourite month as it is my birthday, spring is really with us – and this year it will be really special as, unless plans are changed on April 5, “non essential” shops will be able to reopen on April 12. I will be so pleased to open the doors and welcome you all back.

It is going to be a busy week as it will also be Sale Week – postponed from January!

To make sure you all have time to come and shop safely, The Corner Patch will be open every day that week, from Monday 12 to Saturday 17, from 10am to 5pm.

The number of customers in the shop will be restricted to two, and we ask that you keep as distanced as possible. Face coverings are required (unless you are medically exempt) and you are asked to use the sanitiser provided as you come in and again as you leave.

Sale stock, and some other goods, will be located outside the shop in The Arcade, so you will be able to browse the bargains if you have to wait to enter. I hope you understand that these measures are for everyone’s safety and will be as patient as possible.

Sale Week means that all the sale fabrics, FQ bundles and scrap bags will be out for you to see, plus you can take 10% off all the other fabrics available in the shop. This will also apply to online orders placed between Monday 12 and Saturday 17 April.

Just a word of caution though: all the above plans depend on the announcement due to be made on April 5 about the next steps on the road map out of lockdown. There is still the possibility of reopening being delayed. If this should happen, then all the above will be postponed – but hopefully not for long.

There is so much fabric in the shop that the shelves are groaning. We are spending the time until we open again having a major spring clean a big sort out and trying to make room for everything. All the basics and blender fabrics are restocked, the thread stand is full and rolls of wadding are ready and waiting.

And so many new fabrics have arrived since we were last able to welcome customers inside. In the past week alone I have had deliveries of three more beautiful collections, including some stunning panels – even a panel of quilt labels for you to personalise your quilts.

Moda Fabrics’ latest offering is the Moody Bloom collection by Create Joy Project. It is a digitally printed fabric with bright colours and great definition. The bright blossoms, watercolour washes and brushstrokes make it a real showstopper.
